After a decade in the corporate world, I began my coaching journey in 2008 helping others find careers they connected to and could excel at. I moved to the Philippines and China on expat assignments with my husband, had 2 kids, and decided to focus on being a mom while coaching on the side. We moved to Houston in 2013. Over all these years, I met so many other parents, mostly women, who were transitioning from high-powered careers to expat spouse and/or mother. After “opting out” of the workforce for a few years to devote to their children, many of these women were now ready to get back to paid work but found that they felt lost, isolated, and didn’t know where to start.
I decided to start Parents Pivot, where I help parents find careers they love after a career pause. Through 1-on-1 coaching, the THRIVE return to work program for individuals, targeted workshops on resumes, LinkedIn, and salary negotiation, facilitation, return to work programs, and placement services, I help stay-at-home-parents tackle a lot of those fears and anxieties and position themselves better for the current job market. It’s incredible to see my clients transform into confident women who are able to carve out a new identity for themselves as working moms — that makes it all worth it.
Selby Bush Lilley is the Manager of Corporate Affairs – Operations Americas for BHP, the world’s largest mining company. In her role at BHP, Selby manages the community relations and local, state and federal government relations team focusing on the company’s assets throughout North America. Selby coordinates efforts between community, communications and government relations to ensure successful basin entry, production and basin exit strategies for the company’s legacy assets and international and domestic deepwater offshore facilities. She is also active in industry trade associations and sits on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association.
Selby serves on the Board of Directors of The Women’s Home in Houston, Texas and an active member of The Junior League of Houston. She served on the Board of Directors of the National Parks of New York Harbor Conservancy from 2015 until 2019 and the Board of Directors i for the Tulsa Global Alliance from 2008 to 2009. Selby was awarded the Arkansas Traveler Award by Governor Mike Beebe in 2008 as a recognition of her commitment to community service.
Selby recently relocated from Houston to Wichita Falls, Texas. She is married to Dave Lilley, CEO of Trinity Hughes Construction. They have a six-month-old son, Conrad, who brings them unimaginable joy and presents them with new “personal development” opportunities every day.
Dave Lilley, Esq.
Dave Lilley, Esq. is a fourth-generation scion of The Lilley Land & Livestock Co. which has been in continuous operation in production agriculture since 1901 with active operations in Clay, Denton, Montague, San Jacinto and Wichita counties in Texas and in the Cortes Department of Honduras.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of LLL Enterprises, Inc. (parent company of the Lilley Land & Livestock Co. and its holdings in energy, banking, insurance and commercial real estate sectors) and is the Chief Executive Officer of Trinity Hughes Construction headquartered in Wichita Falls.
Dave was recognized as the Wichita Falls Businessman of the Year in 2010, Times Record News Inaugural “20 Under 40” for North Texas in 2010, twice named to the “Aggie 100” (2010 and 2017) and honored as the Wichita County Aggie of the Year in 2017.
He is married to Selby Bush Lilley who is the Manager of Corporate Affairs for BHP’s Operations Americas and an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management. They have one small son, Conrad Lilley.
