Energy - It's About "All of the Above"

I have been in energy for a while now, oh since 1987 or so. Truly, my energy life was part of my childhood as I grew up in the oil patch of south Louisiana. By age 8, I knew about the other Christmas trees that did not go up in December, pump-jacks, and the like. After my college graduation, I began my career in energy when it was 1) a novelty for women to be engineers, and 2) to be a female in the oil & gas business. I would not trade my journey in the energy sector for anything. It is an industry of "pioneers" who are dreamers and doers.

What I like most is the can-do spirit that permeates the sector.  From seismic surveys to drilling, completion, and production to pipelines that carry the fuel for our cars, the gas to cook in our homes, and the electricity to power our lives - it is the people in energy that have, for decades,  continuously found better ways to find and deliver the energy our world needs.

With the energy transition underway, it is the same pioneering spirit that will see us through to a new energy future. Our sector will leverage the mix of energy sources available - renewables, natural gas, hydrogen, methanol as examples - and find a way to power our world in a cleaner, smarter, and better way.

Energy is not about "either/or", it will be an "all of the above" to get us to net-zero.
